new update
No doubt by now everyone's noticed my lack of activity in game. I've had a lot going on in my life these past few months (really this entire year) and it doesn't look like things are gonna slow down any time soon. So with that said, it's been a pleasure to guide the zone and work with everyone to bring it to what it is today. My only regret is that I had several goals in mind when I took over the zone from w0 and while some of those goals I've been able to achieve (ASSS, multi-rink, fixing "everyone ?go scrim") there are still several I wish I could have had more time to work on. Over the years I've been very open with everyone in regards to what I wanted to do with the zone, where I wanted to take it, and more importantly, I've worked with someone who I knew from the very beginning had the potential to be a great zone owner.
With that said, I approached Arnk about taking over the zone several weeks ago and after a long deliberation he's agreed. I realize I've left him with a bit of a mess as the RSHL LC has not yet been chosen (Arnk was my #1 choice) but I'm 100% confident that he can take the zone to the level I wanted to take it myself, if not even higher. I've worked with Arnk ever since I was handed the zone in 2005 (or early 6) so I know that our visions for the zone's future are very similar.
Lastly, while I may not have always made the popular choice, every decision I've made has been in the best interest of the zone. Including my final one, leaving the zone in Arnk's very capable hands. I'll still be around the forums and hopefully in game for my cashpuck matches (gooooooo team batman2??) and for the upcoming RSHL season but my activity will most likely never be at the same point it once was. So with that said, it's been fun and I wish Arnk the best of luck. See you guys.

Congrats to B.I.G. to winning an epic series. See you all next season, or maybe we'll run something in the winter again, if enough are interested.

There are no words to adequately describe how intense this game got down the stretch, though having blue unlocked the entire game seemed to produce reactions like this:... actually, I'll save those until the end of the report.
The scoring didn't start until 5 minutes in as both defenses seemed to be in tune with their opposing offenses. Real American Heroes' decision to play a 2 shark defense seemed to be paying off in the process. It wasn't until just over 5 minutes in that Doug Flutie hit a 30 yard fieldgoal between sips of beer to give RAH an early lead. This wouldn't last long as Trick- found--who else--Young Kyz in the endzone. The point after gave B.I.G a 7-3 lead, and seemingly at the time, momentum. This particularly seemed to be the case when, with the half winding down and facing a fourth and short, something B.I.G seemed to go for virtually every time, Young Kyz took a handoff and not only picked up the first down, but wound up going 48 yards into the endzone, giving B.I.G a 14-3 lead at the half.
FIRST HALF FUN FACTS:
-Real American Heroes only threw the ball 3 times, and all of its 29 yards in the air came on one play.
-Trick- had more passing yards than Real American Heroes had total offensive yards.
It would take some time, but Real American Heroes would find the endzone thanks to a touchdown catch by J.G. Wentworth (877-CASH-NOW) to narrow the gap to 14-10. B.I.G would then try to gain some first downs and set up at least a fieldgoal, but RAH's defense tightened to the degree that B.I.G only got to play on offense for just under 4 minutes!
Still, Real American Heroes didn't score, or have the chance to, until late in the game when B.I.G went for another fourth down in their own territory. The short pass, which would have resulted in a first down, was batted away and Real American Heroes, with just over a minute left, drove the ball all the way to the 2 yard line where, with 3 seconds left, anticipation built over the course of RAH's timeout, largely because Doug Flutie waited so long that J.G. Wentworth (877-CASH-NOW) had to do it himself:
J.G. Wentw> WTF DOUG

Rubber-Glu> DOES RAH HAVE THE BALLS TO CROSS THAT REDLINE?
And then...
To the shock of everyone in the arena...
B.I.G called timeout:
Timeout called by Trick-!
Kula Shake> BIG BALLS
batman2> afk i cant watch this
It was then that Doug Flutie, on a .5 phase, found Paul Bunyan on the near side of the endzone on a short out route, narrowly getting the ball over Trick-'s cornerback ship, helping Real American Heroes complete a stunning comeback with 1 second left on the clock:

The extra point, despite getting backed up 10 yards by a delay of game penalty, was good, and the ensuing kickoff went out of bounds. B.I.G tried using three receivers to set up a chain of laterals, but Steagle Colbeagle wound up stealing the ball and downing it to end the game.

Total game time: 24:00
This game was, admittedly, painful to watch. Nearly every kickoff turned into an onside kick, including the opener which not only was safely recovered by Sim, but returned for a touchdown as no one from Real American Heroes covered the return. However, a long pass to J.G Wentworth (877-CASH-NOW) acted as a catalyst for a drive which set up a touchdown run by Baberaham Lincoln to tie the game at 7 a piece.
B.I.G answered back with a 31 yard receiving touchdown by batman2 (oh right, he plays a receiver ship) to help push the lead back to 7. The next drive would have Rubber-Glue, apparently playing tight end (I see what you did there B.I.G) and slipping into a gap in RAH's zone for a receiving touchdown of his own to make the score 21-7, which would be the count at halftime.
FIRST HALF FUN FACTS:
-Both quarterbacks combined for 300 yards of aerial offense.
-Rushing Yards: B.I.G 63, Real American Heroes 5
Needing to get back in the game quickly, Real American Heroes would spend just over two minutes on a drive capped by a touchdown pass to Paul Bunyan and what proved to be a costly missed point after by J.G. Wentworth (877-CASH-NOW). Even more costly, though, was a missed 50 yard fieldgoal later on by Smokey the Bear.
Wait, Smokey the Bear? That guy's still alive?
All the while B.I.G's offense, while they did have a few big plays, couldn't seem to manufacture any points. With three and a half minutes to play Real American Heroes would find Paul Bunyan for another touchdown, but being down by 2 would have to go for the conversion, which they didn't get.
B.I.G would then have to run out the clock to protect their lead, which is exactly what they did, thanks in part to a 50 yard rush by Rubber-Glue.
Offensive Star: J.G. Wentworth (877-CASH-NOW) (8 catches, 200 yards)
Defensive Star: The Wqlf (5 tackles, 4 stops, 2 sacks)

After a hard-fought loss in Game 1, B.I.G established themselves early. I mean just over a minute into the game early. Young Kyz found a gap in the defense and Trick- threw a laser of a pass which ended in a 44 yard receiving touchdown and a 7-0 lead. Trick- would them make it 10-0 after a 32 yard fieldgoal on their next possession.
Perhaps wanting to atone for his miss in Game 1, Doug Flutie saw a fourth down from 52 yards out as an opportunity and nailed a 52 yard fieldgoal to narrow the gap to 7. The gap would shrink even further as one of Trick-'s passes would get picked off by Steagle Colbeagle and returned for a touchdown, though a chinese fire drill during the extra point left a one-point margin between them and B.I.G that would hold until halftime.
FIRST HALF FUN FACTS:
-20 passes were thrown by both quarterbacks, but only 6 were completed.
-Steagle Colbeagle accounted for all of RAH's points while not logging any time on offense.
B.I.G would take the game by the throat early in the second half with another touchdown pass to Young Kyz just over one minute in, but Trick-'s point after sailed wide of the posts to make it 16-9. Their next possession would end in Trick- attempting a 52 yard fieldgoal to match Doug Flutie's, which just barely made it over the crossbar, 19-9.
While running low on time, Real American Heroes settled for a fieldgoal with just under 6 minutes remaining, relying on their defense to stop B.I.G and force either a punt or a turnover. Neither happened.
Instead, B.I.G used their running attack to crack off several lengthy gains, including a 44 yard run by Kweh and an eventual rushing touchdown by batman2. 25-9 would be the eventual final, as the point after attempt got lost somewhere between J10 and Z9001.
Offensive Star: Young Kyz (5 catches, 94 yards, 2 TDs)
Defensive Star: Steagle Colbeagle (3 tackles, 3 knockdowns, 1 INT, 1 TD)

A highly-anticipated Godzilla Bowl match-up between regular season powerhouse B.I.G and Real American Heroes, the fourth incarnation of a multi-championship team, turned into a defensive battle late. Before then, however, Real American Heroes was able to set up a very long fieldgoal by Doug Flutie (52 yards to be precise) which fell short of the uprights. B.I.G would follow with a drive that petered out 44 yards out, where Trick- calmly nailed a fieldgoal of his own.
Shortly thereafter Doug Flutie found Paul Bunyan to cap off a drive, but Doug would go on to shank the extra point attempt leaving the score at 6-3. B.I.G would be forced to give up the ball and Doug promptly hit J.G. Wentworth (877-CASH-NOW) for a 42 yard pass. Baberaham Lincoln would end the drive by diving into the endzone for six more, and J.G. Wentworth (877-CASH-NOW) would kick the extra point instead of placing it, splitting the uprights and making the score 13-3. B.I.G, trying to build momentum before halftime, would eventually set up for a 48 yard fieldgoal which Trick- just missed as time expired.
FIRST HALF FUN FACTS:
-Sacks: B.I.G 2, Real American Heroes 5
-Passing Yards: B.I.G 35, Real American Heroes 108
The second half was what appeared to be a stalemate most of the time, at least until Trick- was able to hit a 28 yard fieldgoal midway through. Beyond that, however, each defense simply piled up stop after stop until the clock ran out and Real American Heroes took Game 1.
Offensive Star: Doug Flutie (5/7 140 yards 1 TD
Defensive Star: Jenna Jameson (5 tackles, 5 stops, 3 sacks)

Total game time: 24:00
The game started out solidly for PR on defense; after a tackle on the kickoff Antsy decided he liked how that felt and went on to tackle Baberaham Lincoln the next 3 plays in a row, bringing up a punt for RAH. On PR's first offensive play, Gamesync somehow got behind the secondary 15 yards out, making them look stupid all the way to their own 13. After 2 stuffed runs to Abvolt, Broncs sat patiently in the pocket until Antsy released into the flats and pulled a pass down for 6.
7-0 PR
Baberaham Lincoln gets a good return on the ensuing kickoff out to the PR 40 to set up on offense and try again. A delayed handoff to Lincoln takes RAH inside the red zone down the 18 yard line, picking up a first down. Paul Bunyan gained 6 on a sweep and then RAH finally decides to pass. But wait, Doug Flutie sees an opening and decides to scramble for it... and is quickly stopped by Broncs. In an impressive display of offensive diversity, Lincoln gets the rock again only to be stopped by Antsy? When will they start running to the other side of the field? 4th and goal from the 3 coming up and RAH decides to go for it, and Broncs gets a huge sack on Doug Flutie to end the drive. Feeling confident now, the PR offense struts back onto the field, ready to go. Except for perhaps the offensive line. On first down LB Ted Kaczynski blitzes around the pocket to sack Broncs for a loss of 5 back to the 2 yard line. On second down Ted comes again but the offensive line shifts and picks up his blitz. This did however have the unfortunate side effect of leaving an opening for DL Jenna Jameson who powered through and sacked Broncs in the end zone for a SAFETY!
7-2 PR
Doug Flutie brings back the free kick across midfield to the PR 40 as they prepare once more to bring the ball into the endzone themselves. Doug Flutie airs it out, but it doesn't work. So RAH returns to the run but that doesn't work either. After overthrowing an open J.G. Wentworth, the punt unit comes onto the field and coffin corners PR at their own 6 yard line. Broncs naturally wanting a little bit of cushion between him and the goal line quickly hits Gamesync in the gap for 8. He then hands it off to Antsy who was trying to block and throws the ball again, stopping the play for a loss of 3. On 3rd down, Jenna Jameson somehow gets through the line and sacks Broncs again making the drive a net loss of yardage. Out of his own endzone, Broncs punts it short to the 38 which is returned by Doug Flutie for a touchdown and it seems like all of PR's momentum is gone. J.G. Wentworth did his best to help out by missing the PAT though.
8-7 RAH
After an onside attempt that was so poor it was called a squib afterwards, PR goes 3 and out on as many yards rushing and punt it away again. Doug Flutie gets another huge return and starts his drive inside the red zone. Lincoln brings it a little bit closer before Flutie finds Paul Bunyan in the end zone for the offensive touchdown that had previously eluded them.
15-7 RAH
Antsy brings the kickoff back to the 15 yard line to presumably a frustrated Broncs. His frustration wasn't going to end there however because after sneaking 15 yards right as he was about to go down he pitched it back behind himself to Gamesync, who promptly pitched it to pursuing RAH defensive lineman Jenna Jameson. Realizing someone so top-heavy shouldn't be holding the ball, Jameson laterals to Paul Bunyan who takes it in for more points their offense didn't get. J.G. Wentworth misses the extra point again?! Don't they have someone else?
21-7 RAH as the first half comes to a close. The critical stat of the first half was Blocks/Shields where RAH had PR beat 54-23.
With a more apparent focus on blocking, Antsy brings the kickoff up to his own 41. Broncs looked to have connected with Gamesync on a deep bomb before it was broken up by Doug Flutie. Antsy exploited the 1-3-3 defensive formation RAH was using by running up the middle for 15 yards. On 3rd down PR subs out a receiver, bringing in Abvolt behind Broncs and lining up Antsy wide at tight end. The safety cheated over enough to let Abvolt get a .5 up the middle and a 1st down. After a 5 yard run, DOMIO comes back in and a blitz leaves a delayed run open for Abvolt who takes it down the 2 before punching it in on the next play. With 9:38 left PR looks like they figured out how to move the ball again and find themselves down by only one score.
21-14 RAH
The RAH offense gets a 1st down and makes it to midfield before having to punt out of bounds to the PR 12. Through a couple of runs up the middle, PR got their blocking down and were able to make it all the way down to 1st and goal from the 19 before sputtering and getting sacked by Jenna Jameson on 4th down. With 4:13 left, RAH takes over on downs and burns two PR timeouts before kicking a 50 yard field goal.
24-14 RAH, 2:22 remaining
After a short Chris Olson loss on the ground, Broncs burns his final timeout. Olson slowly moves around in the backfield again before getting tackled for a loss of 3 to bring up the 2 minute warning. On 3rd and 24 from the PR 33 yard line, J.G. Wentworth pulls down a pass but then goes out of bounds around the 15 yard line, 6 yards short of the 1st down. RAH lines up for a field goal then cancels, and Doug Flutie finds J.G. Wentworth at the top of the end zone for the score. On the extra point, J.G. Wentworth lines up to kick but Chris Olson doesn't trust him and steals the ball, sneaking across the goal line for 2 points.
32-14 RAH, 1:52 remaining
Antsy gets his best return of the game and brings the kickoff back to the 47 in RAH territory. Gamesync gets behind the secondary again and brings the ball down to the 14. Broncs throws the ball away then hits Antsy underneath for 10 yards to the 4. Gamesync barely keeps his feet in the end zone catching a touchdown pass at the the bottom-front corner. PR lines up with 2 TE south and a receiver north going for the 2 point conversion, but the pass falls out of bounds.
32-20 RAH, and with 1:07 left in the game RAH recovers PR's onside kick and runs out the clock to end it.

6 minutes passed before any points were recorded and Baberaham was the first to penetrate the goalline. In fact, all of RAHs points came in the 1st half. PR tried to rally but JG Wentworth decided that structured settlements weren't enough for his money; he required the ball as well. Wentworth ended with 4 on the night.

EZPN started with a modest drive, which ended in a FG attempt that was kicked wide right. Continuing their success from Game 2, they were able to stop B.I.G from scoring quickly. EZPN ended two other drives in FG attempts, but only one of those ended up making it in, giving EZPN a shaky 3-0 lead.
In the only notable kick return of the night, Sting took BaK-'s long-north kick to the house by slowly crossing from the north to the south side while evading one lunging tackler after the next. The score after the PAT was 7-3, and that was only the beginning of EZPN's troubles.
A sweep to batman2 nearly blew the game wide open near the end of the half, but a close tank call at EZPN's 31 yard line combined with batman2 wasting time scoring when he had already effectively reached the endzone on the reversed-play forced B.I.G to settle for a fieldgoal. Halftime: 13-3, B.I.G.
Another fieldgoal by Trick, a pick-6 by batman2, and 2 run TDs by Rubber-Glue put EZPN in danger of being mercied for the second time in the series, as their offense was unable to produce anything meaningful in the second half. However B.I.G was unable to complete the two-point-conversion to force the game to end and the game ended on time.

With star player and captain Young Kyz out with a groin injury, EZPN showed up confident and ready to exploit the gap on offense and defense.
EZPN got the ball first and kicked a fieldgoal early on to get a 3-0 lead. From then until halftime the EZPN defense, led by BaK, Chagrin, and D1st0rt stopped almost all plays within 10 yards, with many sacks and defensive-stops. B.I.G was reeling by halftime, being shutout for the first half for the first time since this game vs. Real American Heroes near the start of the season.
In the second half, B.I.G came out swinging and quickly scored on a Sting burn allowed by jugg who seemingly forgot where he was, putting B.I.G back on top. EZPN countered with their own burn to jugg, who nearly scored on a 40+ yard reception. Later, EZPN burned to Bluntman on a similar play and scored shortly after. From this point, B.I.G could not secure a definite rhythm. Multiple botched handoffs and pressure from the EZPN defensive line kept B.I.G from scoring anything. However, EZPN attempted to blow their lead by giving Hungery an easy pick on a .5 mid pass. From there B.I.G worked their way up to a running touchdown by Kweh, putting the score at 17-14. With the chance to tie or take the lead by the end of the game, B.I.G attempted an onside kick but it was recovered well short of the 15 yard requirement. EZPN ran out the clock.
